Stay Home (and be you) top No. 7 - large

Stay Home (and be you) top No. 7 - large
The ‘Stay Home (and be you) top’ is a work of art.
Wear it, treasure it and express your creative self.
A comfy and oversized piece, wear it layered (or not), dressed up or down. Over jeans or a simple black dress. With boots or sandals. Throw on a scarf. Enjoy it!
A wide round neck and ¾ sleeves makes for easy trans-seasonal dressing.
Born from isolation in these strange times and looking at my extensive collection of textiles.
I enjoyed pulling out cotton and linen fabrics (I work exclusively with natural fibres) and putting together beautiful colour combinations in unique prints. Some of these fabrics are vintage, some new designer remnants. Some handdyed, some upcycled teatowels and tablecloths. Some sourced on my inspiring travels (I was supposed to go back to Japan this April…damn virus!) Some of these fabrics have been in quarantine for many years. They all have stories to tell.
This one features rich orange and reds and a crocodile front and centre from a vintage tablecloth, a handprinted linen from aboriginal Injalak Arts, a few other vintage pieces, a couple of new australian designer print remnants, a handwoven stripe, a japanese floral and some handdyed linen to tie it all together.
As is the nature of collecting, this is an original piece of clothing and cannot be repeated.
Sized: Large (16-20)
Top measures approx. 150 cms at hip.
Length 63cms at centre back.
All fabrics are prewashed before construction as to avoid shrinking later, and to soften the fibres.
Gentle machine or handwash and warm iron recommended.
Hope you appreciate the considerable hours of work involved in creating this one of a kind wearable art and enjoy browsing my collection.
